"Katniss Everdeen is a 16 year old living in the twelfth district of a place called Panem, located in North America. The ruling president lives in the Capitol, a place that wants to show the people of Panem that the Capitol is always in charge. In order to do this, 2 kids from each district from the ages of 12-18 are randomly chosen to fight in the Hunger Games where all 24 will fight to the death, and the last person alive will receive all they could imagine. Katniss finds herself in a position where she question what she must do to survive and be with the people that she cares about."
