It is the summer between middle school and the start of high school, and Wyatt Parker is sick of being a target of bullies and always being told what to do by his parents, his older brother, and even his best friend. He's always been awkward, and easily pushed around, so Wyatt decides he wants to play recreational football instead of attending golf camp, against his parents wishes.
When he can't get his parents permission to play, he secretly joins a football league anyway. But instead of just a fun summer playing football, the league he joins is a tough one, that no one in town is supposed to know about, filled with troublemakers who play dirty. Will Wyatt survive the summer and figure out how to stand up for himself?
